In about 2-3 weeks, the Uniform Server will be getting a new release since forever. A shame on my part, but life doesn’t always go the way we want it or have it planed. About a month ago, what most people don’t know is that i was involved in an accident at my job. An armed robber was trying to rob us when he shot me, i was admitted to the hospital and had to stay there for 3-4 days, after getting out i took a week rest and went back to finishing school since it was so close to the end of the semester. Well to skip forward, today i feel alright except for the fact that i can’t walk on my left foot, and i hate the crutches, but it could have been worse.

Uniform Server 3.4-Sluger is coming to a close up by the end of this week and after that it will be released to the Beta Testers in an upcoming Beta LiveSession on our IRC Channel. After everything is completed, 3.4-Sluger will be released.

Nothing! Still in school and i have to say that i am very very busy. Don’t even have time to watch TV as i usually do anymore :(. Anyways, our site was suspended again, but back up. Actually paid all debts
I wont start work on the next version till around next month so please keep on submitting or telling us all problems you find in 3.3 so we can fix them for the next version.

Thats all i can think of for now… gotta run to U.S. History class.

3.3 was released eariler today around 5-6:00AM cause i got back home 12:00AM on the 26^th and was not home throughout the 25^th. It was a rush release because i had lots of things to do and didn’t have time because i was also sleepy and tired. I fianlly got to release it but not as i expected. I UPXed a whole package and the size was reduced after packing it to a zip archive, but packing it to a 7z SFX archive proved wrong. The size was increased by 2Mib + the original package (without being UPXed) size for some reason and that kinda caused problems for me so i left everything and caught a 4hr sleep cause i was too tired.

Woke up 4hrs later and 3hrs after that, i got back on it. I have re-released 3.3 with 3 versions: 2 original and 1 UPXed package thats zipped. You might experience the server being slow to start up with the UPX version, thats because it decompressing. After that, shut it down and restart it and everything should work perfect
We also got a new topic in the forum stating that their are still problems with Win98 machines. For some reason, some Win98 machines are getting the “Out of environment space” error… looking up on that, but about the next release which should be in about a month, expect new things and new changes to the server. “keeping it a secret”

First, from the developers of The Uniform Server, we would like to say Merry Christmas!

Next, version 3.3 is released! The most awaited version in Uniform Server history is here and ready to kick off with just 5.79MiB in size! This is because 3 or more new things was added to the release package “out of the box.”

The server is also released in 3 versions: 2 normal, and 1 .zip UPX compressed. All 3 are tested and works perfect under all MS Windows OS. The UPXed version however may take a while to load the admin redirection page if your PC is slow. This is not a bug or a problem, but just the uncompression stage of the needed file.

With this version in motion, we can move on to other things like creating the installers for the plugins and implementing new technologies; but first, we take a break! Especially me I think i deserve it, or don’t i?

First i have to take a break cause school is about to start and i have to figure myself out. I’m also moving to an apartment with friends so i am trying to figure things out and my scheldule cause i also have a new job making subs
I will definately still be available in the forum for support, but you might not see me poking everywhere till next month or at least 3-5 weeks time. Oh, i might not have an internet connection when i move so that might also cause problems… might have to be checking things online at school
I will try and keep you updated about whats going on with me and the development of the server but for now, i am going to sleep! Been out all day (from 6:00AM in the morning) and i started work on this as soon as i got home at 12:00AM on the 26^th!

Now, go download the server here! Its 6:45AM and i am off to sleep… tired.

Well just to give you an update on 3.3, its planned to come out on December 25, 2005 as a christmas gift. We could not figure out the problem with phpMyAdmin 2.7.0-pl1 on IE but we know that it works perfect on FireFox. On IE, you may have to reload the page/frame before the style is in use for some reason… don’t ask us, we asked and asked around and no one knows what the problem is also and it is not the Uniform Server because 2.6.4 works perfect.Since it works perfect on FireFox, the only problem i can see is IE. Stilling looking into it till the release date/hoping a new version comes out before then.

Introducing mod_security
To even improve on the already tight security in the Uniform Server, we are working on adding mod_security to the Uniform Server. Currently we are not sure on either we are going to add it to the package, or make it a plugin but we will let you know. Please know that when we say “adding to the package” we mean something like 3.4+ and not the upcoming 3.3 After the release of 3.3 we are going to start working on the installers of the other plugins we have developed (Tomcat, Resin …) while working on this.

We will keep you updated on whats happening.
