miniserver by Uniform Server

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

So as most of you know the original name for The Uniform Server was once miniserver. Just as our SourceForge unix name says, but i guess with time, it got the name Uniform Server from the founding developers. Well, soon, we will be releasing the miniserver line under Uniform Server. They are smaller versions of The Uniform Server that allows you to run a server on any Windows OS. They are much more smaller, also mobile, and have the same portability as The Uniform Server. Head of this department is Ric, aka Mike.

They will be released in bundles meaning theres more than one of them. They also have different core systems included and as time passes expect releases with other softwares such as Wordpress, Xoops, Joomla, and so on.

Currently right now, there is no release date set, but expect them within the coming week or two.

Thanks to Ric also for his work with the team and just in case you didnt know, he is the new/old member of the Uniform Server Development Team.

The New SourceForge.net

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Wow, umm, i dont know if i’m late or if they just launched this, but i remember being on the site about 2-3 weeks ago and it didnt look nothing like this. They had the other style up. Well, looks like they cleaned up, now its plainly about the projects and nothing else. They moved the company related content over to the .com site and made the .net the main project site.

We Not Dead

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Well if you are active in the forums you will know that we are still here. Been busy lately with school, and am not gonna lie, its kicking my butt even though i dont have a job… which may be what makes things kindof hard doing this and that to keep up with the bills and rent, not even the Benjamin Family. Anyways, you can expect great things from Uniform Server this year, we will be coming out with a new pack of MINISERVERS created by Ric, and also getting some spanking new updates and some improvements. You will definitely catch Apache 2.2 this year if you wondering and some plugins that have been sitting in the SVN unpublished will be released also.

Everything will be done one by one as i am still looking for an apartment since my lease expired last year and my former roommate doesnt have funds to room again. Expect an update to 3.5, 3.5.1 hopefully soon. This will not contain Apache 2.2 though as we are saving that for 4.0, the next major release. 3.5.1 will contain patches, updates and bug fixes to the server.

If you need anything, catch us in the forums.

3.5-Apollo Released

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

Uniform Server 3.5-Apollo was just released today! Yay! Not a long wait right? Well, i hope not. This release is not a major release but it does feature updates, bug fixes and some patches around the server. Special BIG Thanks goes to Ric (aka) Mike Gleaves for helping out with the Beta and also patches/fixes.

This is the last step before 4.0 so version 4.0 is next. Go get it now!

The plugins are what i plan to start working on now… You can find everything in our SVN over at SourceForge. The installers are the major problem, so i guess i will have to start on that. The problem with me and the first go-round with the installers was i wanted too much features in it and wanted it to be extra cool… So don’t worry, this time i should be able to get what i want.

Best Regards,
