A look into the future
March 3rd, 2005 | Development,Uniform Server
I would just like to unleash my future plans or what i think the Uniform Server should have or be in the future. oO
Before i start, I would like to say Congrats to our big brothers at XAMPP for releasing the Mac version of their software.
To get back to the post, here we go:
UniUpdate/Plugin System: I have been planning and working on this with a very good user of the Uniform Server, Thomas (ungamed), but lately I do not know the status of the program because I have not heard from him for a while (maybe he went on vacation or travelled?). The UniUpdate/Plugin system will allow you to update your Uniform Server installation and also download/install plugins fast and easily.
Feature Request Completion: Finish all feature requests. Currently, I am working on the Java Servlets Plugin and later plan to move on to the Python support.
Admin Panel: I have been working on this for a while and though most have not yet seen the new Admin Panel, most have experienced it firsthand. A new version of it is also in development, and there may be 2 versions. A Lite and a Pro version of the Admin Panel. This would allow us to shrink the size of the server by about 1/4 or at least 1/5
Linux Version: This is a possibility. As most people have read on the new website, “words are leaking”. I actually planned this myself but do not know if it is possible or if it I will get a chance yet.
Language Control: The planning of the new Admin Panel has this. We plan to make it multi-lingual and also easy to translate.
That is all for now but i will be sure to update this post when everything else comes back.
Thanks
