Admin Panel Changes
March 13th, 2005 | Development,Uniform Server
To those who might have the development version of the Uniform Server, the one that was released a while ago to Beta Tester, I will just like to point out that there will be some major changes in the Admin Panel.
As most of you know by now, we will be having 2 versions of the Admin Panel. A Lite version, which will come with the server installtion, and a Pro version that can be downloaded and installed seprately. Currently what I do know is that both the Pro and Lite version will have differnent layouts/theme schemes.
The Pro version which was included in the last development release to Beta Testers will also be going through some major changes. Since we have a problem with the navigation system, we will be removing the default one and replacing it with another. The reason to this is because the normal nagivation system does not work well under Firefox and it seems like we also have a JS error under Firefox so we will just have to make a new nav.
Currently I have started the Lite version which also includes a Language System and also a Uniform Server Configuration System to configure the Admin Panel and also other parts of the server.
Everything we are working on has been put on hold for this version of the Admin Panel. The Lite version is needed because as soon as Taras fixes the Process32 bug, we have to make a quick release since it seems like we are a little behind.
Beta Center
The Beta Center is also being worked on currently and a reply has been posted to the thread in the Developer Forum. The current status is 25% but if we are not going to be integrating it with the main website layout then the status will be bumped 50%.
Java Servlets
I have been trying to get this plugin to work, but as you know i need the Java SDK which the PC I use during the weekdays does not have, and is only powered by a dial-up internet (meaning, I cannot download something like that because it will take forever), but i plan to download the SDK at home during the weekend and install it via my enclosed hard drive.
This are the only updates i have for now. More news/updates will be posted later.
Thanks
