UniThis UniThat, what now?

December 24th, 2006 | Uniform Server

How about UniController. For days me an iapain have been sending emails back and forth at each other and one of the things we have been talking about is a new feature that will allow users to start and stop the server easily without the use of the infamous .bat files.

This idea started with the forum post by markettwp, when he could not start his server with the .bat files since he was running under restriction, after this, i appointed iapain the task to work on an executive that will allow users to startand stop the server without having to always use the batch files.

He was done with a executive that fixes the problem about 2-4 days ago, but my only problem with it was that it is command line and have to be ran with command prompt which can get real hectic when it comes to support because of some users, so i proposed to him a GUI version (you can take a look at the quick design sketch i made for him) that will allow users to start the server and stop it with one easy executive.

UniController Beta
(Please note that the actual software might not look like the design)

The executive can also be used to start and stop plugins that need these controls such as the UniTray, Java & etc. Currently, as i just proposed the idea to him we are still discussing it and i will let you know how things turn up.

Best Regards,

If you’r on network then you only have 2 options COMMAND LINE and SOCKET .. well socket doesnt seems to be available .. thats why most of people will find command line much easier than GUI. But for sure GUI would be nice for our newbie users. Lets uniController keeps on going.
