Maybe because GPC lacks such a strong branded identity, they were stuck using a academic name?

I agree your point though about sticking &quot;i&quot; in the front is very lame. As lame as sticking &quot;e&quot; in front of names a few years ago. Or the even more recent dropping the &quot;e&quot; in &quot;er&quot; of sites ala Flickr or Dopplr.</description>
